3rd Annual
Blake Marathon 2015

 

The Blake Marathon began in 2013 after the Boston Marathon bombings took place. It is our way to come together as a community through walking/running and to give back to those families who were impacted by tragic event. This is all thanks to our own Event Organizers, 6th Grade Science Teacher Kelly Ruminski and PE Teacher, Jeff Cincotta!

 

Participants:

This year we had 442 student runners/walkers, 24 staff runners/walkers, over 100 student spectators and 66 staff volunteers on the race course! Whew!

 

Shout Outs!

It takes a community to make this happen! A big thank you to:

• Parents who dropped off water!

• Parents out in the neighborhood off of Hillcrest that set up water stations.

• Parent race volunteers who gave up their morning to come register runners, help with timing and set up water stations

• YUGA for providing us with an appreciation of the clean drinking water we are so lucky to have and drink!

• Chief Meaney and the Medfield Police Dept. for keep us safe!

• Mr. Cincotta, Mr. Nickerson, and Mrs. McCullough for setting up the race course and previewing it with the PE classes.

• Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Hutsik, our school nurse and trainer for taking care of us.

• Mr. Haycock and your PE teachers for setting up our awesome sound system and helping to organize the start and finish lines, and the timing of the runners.

• Student Council for helping fund the race bibs, medals, and prizes

• And most of all.. to you the students for making this event worthwhile!

 

This event Raised over $700 for Camp Sunshine!
